9 Cute & Comfy Loungewear Sewing Patterns for Women (3 FREE)

Ever since quarantine started in the UK, I’ve realized how worn and not-very-chic my loungewear wardrobe is!

In case you’re in the same situation, here are 9 casual sewing patterns that I found and wanted to share. I only included PDF patterns that we can print easily at home.

PS. 3 of them are free!

I’m absolutely loving this loungewear set Holly Dolly created using:

PDF Price: $12.72 USD

Size Range: 0 – 20 and 14 – 30 (2 options).

I love that the Jarrah sweater pattern has so many variations. You can make a basic crew-neck sweater with traditional cuffs and a hem band. Or mix it up with 4 different hem options, a funnel neck, and a split sleeve.

The design includes:

  • Crew or funnel neckline.
  • 2 sleeve options: split sleeve or cuffs.
  • 4 hem styles: hem band, straight hem, curved hem, and waist tie (this is the one in the picture).
  • Loose fit.
  • Drop shoulder.

You’ll need:

  • Sweater knit fabric. Specifically a medium weight knit with atleast 10% stretch. Examples include french terry and sweatshirt fleece.
  • Ribbing for the cuffs and hem.
  • Optional: Twin needle for hemming (or just use a single needle and a zig zag stitch).
  • Fusible hemming tape.

Como knit pants:

These are Style Arc’s wide-leg pants for stretch fabrics. I love that they’re not too wide.

You can also crop them to make a culotte style (this hack isn’t part of the pattern though).

The design includes:

  • Flat elastic waist.
  • Cord.
  • In-seam pockets.

You’ll need:

  • Knit fabric. For example, sweater knit or wool jersey.
  • Elastic: 38 mm /1.5″ wide.

Price: $10

Size Range: 0 – 18

This is the Ogden Cami by True Bias.

People like that the neckline isn’t too low, it’s a great scrap-buster, and easy to sew up.

You might find that the straps aren’t wide enough to cover bra straps, however.

You can also lengthen the cami and cut it on the bias for a slinky slip dress (this hack isn’t part of the pattern).

The design includes:

  • A soft V-neck at the front and back.
  • Spaghetti straps.
  • The neckline and armholes are finished with a partial lining.

You’ll need:

  • Light weight woven fabrics such as crepe, rayon challis, voile, and lightweight linen.
  • Loop turner or safety pin.

Price: $16 USD

Size range: 0 – 34

This is a minimal, long cardigan by Helens Closet.

It’s designed to be worn open, so you won’t be able to close it.

I like that the plus size versions are designed for a D cup, not a B cup like many patterns. Fewer people will have to fiddle with a full bust adjustment thanks to this.

The design includes:

  • 3 lengths.
  • Optional patch pockets.

You’ll need:

  • A light to medium weight knit fabric with at least 40% stretch widthwise and 20% stretch lengthwise. Eg. a lightweight jersey or a french terry for something thicker and warmer.
